Mechanical properties

Tensile test: Determine the yield strength, tensile strength and elongation, and evaluate the performance of stainless steel under tensile load.

Hardness test: Use Rockwell hardness, Brinell hardness or Vickers hardness to reflect wear resistance and processing performance.

Impact toughness test: Detect the toughness of stainless steel when subjected to impact load to avoid brittle fracture under impact.

Physical properties

Detect density, thermal expansion coefficient, magnetic properties, etc. For example, austenitic stainless steel is usually non-magnetic or weakly magnetic, and martensitic stainless steel is magnetic.

Corrosion resistance

Salt spray test: Simulate the corrosion situation in marine climate or high-salinity industrial environment to evaluate the ability to resist salt spray corrosion.

Intergranular corrosion test: Detect whether corrosion occurs at the grain boundary, which is often used in chemical equipment, food processing equipment and other fields.

Pitting test: In a corrosive medium containing chloride ions, observe the formation of pitting pits and evaluate the ability to resist pitting corrosion.

Surface quality

Appearance inspection: Check the surface for defects such as scratches, depressions, oxide scale and sintering marks by visual inspection or magnifying glass, and check whether the surface is uniform and whether the finish meets the requirements.
